Thank you Charly!
You’re welcome =) Keep it up!
I can’t wait to see “The Fortunate Son,” it’s one of my most highly anticipated animated short films! Every glimpse you share through screenshots or sneak peeks piques my curiosity and eagerness to witness the complete product!
I just saw this post for the short film and I have to say that I have chills from these screenshots. It looks so familiar to my hometown that you could’ve told me this was a live film project of the area and I was surprised.
It reminds me of the movie Secondhand Lions in the most positive way possible. I’m certainly excited to see more progress on this as well as the hints of lore through screenshots. Keep up the wonderful work!
Thank you very much @The_M0ss_Man! I work a lot on this project. I want it to be as good and authentic as possible. It consumes a lot of time and energy, but it’s truly worth doing it because of comments like yours! Thank you very much, and I promise there will be more surprises.
hey did you get some VC funding for this?!
@thecowboyrapper Unfortunately, I haven’t achieved much yet. I’m solely relying on self-financing, which is why progress is slow. I have to work alongside it to make ends meet, leaving me with little time to dedicate to this endeavor. So, it’s quite challenging to pursue it under these circumstances. However, I believe in the saying that Rome wasn’t built in a day…
Oh, how things must come full circle for our main character, “The Convict”! Part of me wonders if he can yet still change his fate. I love the character model’s facial pose in this screenshot!
Thank you for your kind words @Zezkaii !
Yes, I also loved this facial expression. Naturally, it’s just a part of one scene, as I finally had the time to work on the character’s face since version 5.2 (metahuman animator). It’s truly fascinating what it can do, but there’s still a lot of fine-tuning needed to achieve truly stunning results. As you know, ‘The Fortunate Son’ will be a shortmovie, so unfortunately, there won’t be enough time to fully delve into a character’s complete development from beginning to end. Nevertheless, there will be a glimpse of it. The runtime will be around 15-20 minutes, which means there won’t be sufficient time to narrate or showcase everything, such as the characters’ backgrounds or motivations. However, I must mention that even as a shortmovie, it will contain so much action and excitement that could easily fit into a feature-length movie. Yet, of course, there’s still an incredible amount of work ahead. It’s immensely encouraging to see someone genuinely interested in the film’s creation.
Many thanks.
The pleasure is all mine! @DanielMagyar I do hope you’re having a fantastic Friday.
I’ve been genuinely interested in seeing “The Fortunate Son’s” conception since you posted the 3D short cinematic test render back in March of last year. I eagerly anticipate the final product but understand that good things take time! Thank you for sharing sneak peeks of your masterpiece as you work on it. Your efforts are truly appreciated.
Love It
Looks very promising and ultra-cinematic!
It’s a huge challenge to connect such different styles and concepts. I hope the project is at its final stage as I can’t wait to see it.
The Telecaster-style guitar sound always adds depth to the scene. I wonder what kind of music will be in the sci-fi part of your short film.
Great job!
Hi @galconda
Thank you for the kind words! Unfortunately, the project is still quite far from completion, but I don’t want to rush it since I have plenty of time. The film takes place in 1975 and 2035 and is based on real historical events, so in 2025, there will be a 50th-anniversary celebration of these events. Therefore, I can only finish it by the summer of 2024 at the earliest.
The story and characters beautifully connect different locations and eras. I place special emphasis on the music. Not every scene will have music since I don’t want to turn it into a music video, but when it’s present, I will use music that perfectly complements the scene and the time period. You won’t be disappointed; there will be some fantastic music in it. So lean back and relax, the premiere is still far away! But when the time comes, it will blow everyone’s minds!

Thanks, @DanielMagyar for the detailed explanation, now I’m even more intrigued, and will follow the updates.
Good luck!
