Thrilled to share my latest historical cinematic short film: “The Fall of Da Bang Citadel” (1407), fully produced using the preview version of Unreal Engine 5.8 (review)
This project wasn’t just about recreating a tragic yet epic turning point in Vietnamese history; it served as a technical benchmark to battle-test the upcoming features of UE 5.8. Throughout the production, I focused heavily on reviewing the new real-time rendering pipelines, dynamic lighting improvements, and asset optimization workflows to see how they hold up under a tight cinematic schedule.
The stability and rendering fidelity in this version show massive potential for real-time filmmaking.
