, if you read this, haven’t given up on a reply to your Much appreciated help yet :),

I am sorry that i am only just replying to your last ‘again’ Much appreciated help, all i can say is the truth, and that is,
Iv’e been busy with my billion pound game business :stuck_out_tongue:
But seriously this is how it went,
Saw your comment Thursday evening and had to go and try it instantly,
Then at 4 am the next day i had to go to sleep and felt too tired to come and post a reply,
Then later that day, ‘evening’ i turned on comp and tried again to solve the 2 identified problems,
Then next day at 6 30 am went to sleep,
But next morning around 5 am i thought i had found the answer to the main problem to the Advanced Car, But no, it’s better but still not right, and out of over 24 hours spread over 3 days i have slightly solved one of the problems lol.

So yesterday i felt i might as well just get it finished as much as it is then reply to you.
I have made completely new BPs of both of the Advanced Presets, and the Shaking car problem again happened to the BP,
So it does seem like the Skeletal mesh. But after trying so much to get it working, Of which your last post made so much sense and the bones, Constraints not being right, and when i saw my Constraints were very off centre i thought that had to be the problem,
but as i have found, the constraints on the blue buggy don’t seem to be a problem where they are, i have even deleted them and the vehicle seemed totally normal and drove fine ?. then when i bothered to look at the original mesh i see that they are all at zero lol.
i really thought at one point that it was the BP because the same mesh worked fine in another BP, but also tried replacing the BPs Skeletal, with a new mesh and yet the same would happen. all i can say is i have tried so much these last days and feel no closer to why the problems are.

Basically the problem does seem to be with the skeletal meshes ‘but i can’t see why’ i reckon it’s more to do with the bone setup rather than the editing and wheel adding. the wheels i have added seem to be like an additional bone now, and think they are the cause of the problems.

i would like your opinion if you do see this comment, and if your up for checking out the project, the links up the top.

That’s weird. Did you add some extra bones? You shouldn’t, you just need to rig your tires to the viswheel bones.

I tried to dl, you should zip it up. Google drive tries to zip before i can DL it and after an hour it’s still spinning.

Thanks for the reply , i have no idea what i’m doing with uploading. i did make a zip but i couldn’t seem to upload it ,and after over an hour of uploading, all i get when i try the gdrive link is it just downloads a single file. And since then i have joined mediafire and have just spent over 2 hours uploading it to mediafire, but that link just seems to download a single file as well ?. i also tried uploading a zip to mediafire but the upload box wouldn’t recognise the zip archive ??? aaaaaarrrrrrgggg :), PS i will try the rigging to the vis bones after this latest nightmare :slight_smile: and sorry in my frustrated state i forgot to say ‘Sorry’ for wasting your time with a bad download. i’m looking for a tut on how too now, but hey have a look at the new Mediafire link in the meantime, but sorry in advanced if it only downloads one file ???, i will post a THIS WORKS next to the link above when i know it does :slight_smile:

Hi Francois i have just seen your post on project page, Here’s the link (see top of page) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tfvWU1KKtoSvr-rTKN7BKwoO0qyZS8za/view The project vehicles were set up better before but i had to delete them. if you can tell me what help you need with engine setup other than you find in project, message me here or in youtube (on one of the videos for project) for a quicker response, as the page i might not see a new comment so easily. The wheel changing is not very hard, but you will have to have blender for me to show you ?. I will do a tutorial tomorrow if you want me too ?. Also thanks to on this project page who has told me a solution for easy wheel changing inside UE4, I can’t say i can do it :), but i will try and if i do, i will be adding that ability to the project later. i hope you find useful parts in the project, and please reply here or on youtube comments and i will get back to you will

Vollgaser i am new to making community projects let alone don’t really know how Git hub works, i would be very happy if people want to contribute to the project, make it better, and it could have a big contributors board listing the people. i think i am joined to Git hub (i am sure i have downloaded something from there at some point) but i really don’t know how it works ?. are you saying if it was on the Git, people can add to it and reupload it ?. but say for example if someone adds something bad, or messes it up, what happens then ?, do you end up with multiple versions with with notes on the different versions ?. i really don’t know how it works (as you can probably tell :), please explain ?

Ah man. It requires Mesh Tool plugin.

it should still load up ?, unless i am very VERY mistaken, non of the project needs mesh tool or the other 2 plug in’s i probably had loaded when i zipped it. i’m sure it should say ‘missing plugin’ and you just have to press the dismiss button and it should load up fine ?, because non of the project relies on any of those plug ins to work like some plug ins (for example i have a wheel component plug in, and if i had used it for a vehicle, then the vehicle would need that additional component that comes with the plug in to work, the plug ins i used are just additional editing tools, so non of the BPs ect require any of the plug ins to be able to function),. if it won’t load without, please reply and i will make a zip while plug ins are not loaded. ALSO that reminds me, i have copied the main level to other projects to test them after the respawn and dragging in to another level problems that i talked to you about before, and at most it has said ‘plug ins available’ and leaves it up to me to either click yes to what i might want loaded (then when you do it wants a restart), but as i am testing and not editing, i just dismiss them and it works like normal. GOOD LUCK, You shouldn’t need it :slight_smile:

You definitely don’t need those extra bones for the wheels. Just rig the wheel mesh to viswheel bone.

? are you saying you got it to load without plugs ?. Because i deleted plugs from launcher and tried to load it and it wouldn’t like you said, so had to re install plugs, unzipped it, loaded it, disabled plugs, saved it, zipped it, tried uploading 4 times (because of some annoying g drive problem where it keeps going offline) then changed the link and apologised to Everyone, AND NOW YOUR TELLING ME IT WORKED AAAAARRRRGGGGGG. I should have called this the Advanced Vehicle NIGHTMARE :slight_smile:

i tried that Lastnight, but had the same results with the car shaking, also i added collision spheres as well to the wheels of which gave the same result ?.
I do hope your add wheels separately might solve the problem, but feel it will just be the same. ?

If you go to the cars vehicle component and change the threshold longitudinal speed back to the default 5 in the vehicle set up section, you will see how bad it is lol

Things I noticed:
1- all the bones were scaled to 340%. I zeroed them out, did you?
2- I gave you good instruction before to rig to the VISWHEEL. Why did you create new bones under the phys wheel?

I can’t find the threshold long speed…


OK, it’s really hard to know what I’m looking for as I didn’t see how it was before.

These cars are really fast. the road is slick…


So I put my suspension rig and wheel rig both on the RTA3x.

I assigned them to the rta3x skeleton. I made all the attached meshes NO collision. Don’t know if that helps in this case

I found the trheshhold and it was at 5.

But I’m driving around no shaking. Seems pretty standard. I did make a collision mesh of my own from the wheels file.
I set the wheels to no collision (as they use the phys mesh)
I used the tra3 anim bp.

I didn’t bother rigging the suspension anymore than a basic autmoctic 3 second rig so it’s wonky looking. But the wheels move correctly.

I forgot to delete your bones the second time… Modo crashed.

I’ve never adjusted the long thresh but it was set at 5 (I started with the buggy template). I just tried 0 and 10 and don’t see any difference. No shaking at all.
All these adjustments that seem to have very little documentation of what they actually do I haven’t touched. Just sticking to the obvious stuff as my game is fairly simple anyway.

But I have had weird wonky physics when things weren’t rigged properly. Also when attachments (any component other than the base ‘chassis’ <by that I mean the very root component of the vehicle).

I probably wont get around to checking it out again before Sunday.

What Version of the Engine is this project using? I tried to open in 4.21 and all the content is empty.

It’s made in 4.22, but i can’t see any reason it would not work in 4.21. when did you download it ? also is the download 2gb ?

Yes I have the 2.16 gb unzipped and all the assets show in the folders. When I open the .uproject I choose the engine which I currently only have 4.21 installed. It opens and all the folders are empty. I’ll get 4.22 and try again.

Hmm that is strange, i presume it just wouldn’t load at all if the project is not compatible. i’m 99.9999 percent the download is fine and has all the folders. BTW i am updating it later tonight with better versions of the Advanced Car base that’s in the project already but needed work. when you have 4.22 sorted, check the upload on page 1, it will have an updated message next to it when i do.

I will check for updates. The first thing I am going to test is how the Vehicle performs on Terrain Landscape…as that has been my issue with my project. I am working to build a 4x4 vehicle that can go over rough terrain.
