textures getting all messed up

So im a complete NOOB when it comes to ue4 and im having a problem when i import my png for a spritesheet it messes up the png when importing and adds pixels and makes it just weird looking. any help is appreciated.

You could try right clicking on the texture after importing, and sprite action…apply paper2d settings.

if your PNG uses Alpha channel, most image editing tools apply a padding to the RGB channels.

Don’t use PNG with transparency, I’d suggest using TGA instead.

Change the compression settings. By default UE4 will set the compression to DXT which is lossy and not suitable for pixel art content. I think if you change the texture group setting to Paper2D or something like that it changes the compression settings automatically for you.
