texture sample is broken

When I apply a texture straight to an object the textures work but if i go into the material and use the texture sample it doesn’t, even if i put a texture in it stays black and give me errors.

Not sure what to do and I am very frustrated because i have been working on this problem for a week now and know one is helping really. I am using a mac by the way.

where is texture properties?

On Mac you’ll need to install Xcode for 4.11 to work properly as Apple don’t supply the offline Metal shader compiler with the OS, only with Xcode. In a future version of UE4 we’ll fall back to slower runtime compiled text shaders in this case but for 4.11 you’ll need Xcode.
