texture and lighting problems

Hi all

first time poster here…

currently trying to make an interior scene but having weird texture shadows on the chair fabric and skirting.
scene build on production level with light map res at 2048. higher doesn’t make much difference.

any help would be much appreciated

Hi!
In the first picture seems that you didn’t keep enough pixel padding between the uv elements, in the second picture I think you should put a texture coordinate node in UV input of the texture sampler in material editor.

The fix for the first picture see the lightmap unwrapping techniques in those two threads:

I hope this helps.

thanks for the reply.

could you explain how to do the fix for the second one as I am fairly new to this

thanks

Yep, can you take a screenshot in the mesh editor of the chair and show me your map channel 1 by clicking the UV button there. Also take a screenshot in the material editor of your material setup for the chair.

just realized there was a perfect uv map overlap, palmface* which seams to have fixed the issue… thanks for the help!

Nice, that’s why I wanted to see your first map channel. Good luck with your project.
