text render actor opaque in editor but transparent on play

I’m trying to make a simple 2d game and I used a text render actor to put some text on the screen. it is supposed to be white and in the editor it is but when I hit play the tet is very dim and grey (I have a black background), I don’t know if the text is becoming transparent or is dimly lit. please help. thanks

No one knows? Maybe I didn’t give enough info. I am following a simple tutorial you can find here - Unreal Engine Tutorial Part Two: Your first application – GameFromScratch.com and it tells me to add the text render from the modes panel which I did. I type in Hello World and it looks good in my editor window but when I hit play the text is very grey and dim instead of white and bright. I did use a black background image and not the one in the tutorial. Could this be a bug that I should report? Any way to fix this problem? Thanks

I have another project, but the problem is the same in widget… :frowning:
