text render actor opaque in editor but transparent on play

I’m trying to make a simple 2d game and I used a text render actor to put some text on the screen. it is supposed to be white and in the editor it is but when I hit play the tet is very dim and grey (I have a black background), I don’t know if the text is becoming transparent or is dimly lit. please help. thanks

No one knows? Maybe I didn’t give enough info. I am following a simple tutorial you can find here - http://www.gamefromscratch.com/post/2015/04/15/Unreal-Engine-Tutorial-Part-Two-Your-first-application.aspx and it tells me to add the text render from the modes panel which I did. I type in Hello World and it looks good in my editor window but when I hit play the text is very grey and dim instead of white and bright. I did use a black background image and not the one in the tutorial. Could this be a bug that I should report? Any way to fix this problem? Thanks
