Terrain Render Distance on Newer Props.

Summary

Most props, specifically Terrain pieces that were added to creative after Chapter 4 Have TERRIBLE render distance, which is interesting because there are a few terrain pieces that dont do this, Some galleries I find the issue with most commonly is the Desert Biome Nature Gallery, Golden Coast Nature Gallery, Snow Biome Nature Gallery, and Snowy Mountain Gallery, and the Rocket Racing Inferno Nature Gallery. Often when these props “disappear” you need to be almost right next to them in order for the game to render them again. This can cause immersion and perception to feel lack luster and often take away from a creators map.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. place down the listed galleries.

  2. Place down a gallery like the sand dunes or Modular Rock gallery.

  3. Continue to back up about 200m.
    (the above listed galleries should disappear while the Dunes and Modular Rock do not.

  4. Start slowly approaching the invisible terrain pieces until they reappear.

Expected Result

These pieces improve map quality and should be seen from much farther than required to see them.

Observed Result

When i followed these steps the newer pieces disappeared between 126 and 200 as I ran the test a couple times, where as the Modular Rock piece did not disappear until about 700m, the Newer piece did not become visible until 13m and the older Modular Rock piece re-appeared at 300m

Hi! I want to share more details about this terrain bug.

Firstly, for no confusion this render distance bug is severly noticable and i should say is more worse on the cliff terrain pieces from the following galleries:

-Battlewood Boulevard Nature Gallery

-Bumpy Bay Nature Gallery

-Classified Canyon Nature Gallery

-Tiptop Terrace Nature Gallery

-Golden Coast Winterfest Nature Gallery

-Frigid Fortress Nature Gallery

-Brutal Bastion Nature Gallery

And lastly: Snow,desert,volcanic Nature galleries

So basically these galleries contains cliffs props that can be used in many different ways but unfortunately these specific ones have a bugged problem where it seems they weren’t ported as “NoRVT” the best example for this will be the Japanese Nature Galleries for example where the cliff props are perfectly fine..

Render distance on the cliff props i stated bugged have a memory usage of 1+ after it initially being dropped(which isn’t supposed to happen) and the render distance is as low as ~120m in game

Can you please let the team know about this bug? We pretty can’t use the newer terrains props the way they are (the ones i stated in the main comment) because the rendering on them is really bad like something entirely different than other terrain/cliff props we have (such as the ch6 cliffs) not to mention it seems every new cliff prop we get is affected and this bug have been a thing since the start of ch7, I’m not really sure why it does happen cuz i can confirm it happens on all platforms, so if it can be fixed I’ll really appreciated!

i would wait a few days for the bug to enter the system before trying to ping the community manager
