Temples of Cambodia UE5 (Lumen + Nanite)

Hi, this time we want to share with the community our last project: [VP] Temples of Cambodia - Ruins exterior and interior

Trailer

We decided to make a scene special dedicated to the Virtual Production industry in Unreal Engine 5. Of course, all 3D scanned assets based on photogrammetry were reconstructed in RealityCapture.

We wanted to create the best impression of realism using optimized only our 3D scanned models. For this task, we invited our colleague and an outstanding specialist Tomasz Bentkowski (Artstation).

This is our second scene inspired by our visit to Cambodia in 2019. We had a big chance to get 3D scans and tons of references there. But some of the models were 3D scanned in Poland

If you are interested like it look inside the project, you can buy it on the marketplace:

Some raw scans:

In this example, you see that we made also some reconstruction, and the 3D scan was only a base. We add also completely new textures created in Substance Painter

This is our first post, so please share with us what you think about it, whether such materials can be an inspiration for you or the beginning of an interesting discussion

Hi there @ScansFactory,

Hope you’re doing well and having a terrific week so far!

You have definitely accomplished realism with this scene. The walls alone are incredibly detailed and tell such a story of the history they mimic. How long has your team been working on this?

Thank you! Hmm is hard to say how long we were working on this scene…but a long  We use a lot of content from our previous scene Ancient Temple Ruins (that scene took us about 4-5 mounts). So that was a big boost for model productions. But we also made some new more detailed rocks and roots, especially for Virtual Production. The scene itself was outlined in a few days, but its refinement, lighting, and shots took more than a month, and heavily stretched in time. Models were created internally in the team (from 3D scans to game-ready models), but the above-mentioned great artist Tomasz Bentkowski helped us with the creation of the scenes, lighting, and cameras. And Tomasz was doing that after his regular job, so that is the case
This scene was also supposed to prove to us whether there is interest in this type of product - less game-ready and directed to virtual production. We have a very large database of 3D scans and it would be great fun to do more scenes like this we art thinking that Unreal Engine 5 is going in that direction.
