Well, Paper2D template has a bit of copyright problem. Due to sprites belonging to Capcom. Though I do plan to give paper2d one for free with a non-marketplace way once people buy the 3D one. So it will be like having both templates for one price.
And thank you! Itâs going great so far. Punches and Kicks are working fluently with zero problems. Though I want to do more before I show a video.
Thanks for reply! Yes youâre right about the third party sprites, I wouldnât expect a release of a template with Capcom sprites in it as thatâd be illegal. One of a potential way of solving it is to render out 3D models and animations youâre using for 3D template as 2D sprites. So you would include those sprites instead and would use them to showcase how awesome your 2d fighting game system is. You could still use the videos you made about replicating the Street Fighter mechanics to promote your template, but that way you wouldnât distribute any 3rd party content as a part of your template. Iâm not an intellectual property lawyer so I could be wrong, but I would try to avoid things like giving away 2D template with 3rd party content in it (such as Capcom sprites) for free to those who bought 3D template without permission from Capcom(or any other 3rd party owner of sprites you used) to do so, since technically youâd be making money from selling 3D template with 2D template working as a direct incentive to buy the 3D template in the first place.
Canât wait to see the next video on the combat system! Cheers!
Hmm. Itâs funny. I was planning to make out some 2d sprites from 3d models before, though I completely forgot that I could use the same procedure for my 2D one. Thank you for reminding me that one! Thatâs a big help!
I canât wait to show it either. I was not expecting the results to be good either. I actually thought it would be ridiculous as Paper2D is kinda limited in itâs current state. But I am happy to be wrong.
Havenât seen any updates to this. My team is look at both Unity and Unreal Engine 4 for our next fighting game project. (Used Fighter Maker 2nd.) Now we are looking to go 2.5D with the next one.
Iâm excited to see more from this and you have a paying customer right here waiting to use this template. Keep up the great work hope to see more of this in the future!!
