When syncing to revision control, UEFN starts using more and more RAM until it can’t use more RAM and proceeds to give the error: “Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource. Make sure your video card has the minimum required memory, try lowering the resolution and/or closing other applications that are running. Exiting…”
I have 12GB of video memory. 32GB of RAM.

Observed Result
Unreal Editor which isn’t responsive, pop-up not showing and Unreal Editor using 25GB+ RAM and then crashing.
Local project already deleted, Unreal Editor files have been verified and reinstalled, PC has also been rebooted already. None of this seems to fix the issue.
It may be related to Virtual Memory, you have some moderate disk 0 usage, right around the time your mem, cpu & gpu max out.
Go to your advanced PC settings and change your Virtual Memory settings to min 64Gb or as much as you can get, but put the paging file on your least used disk, either 1 or 2.
Oh hang on 147 actors… it shouldn’t be doing that, check your custom stuff, there could be an issue with a material, run the Validate Project in the launch menu and see if it gives any warnings.
Thanks @xd_ItsKarMa for reporting this. The team is aware of this issue and it will be fixed in the upcoming 37.00 release which is scheduled to go live on Thursday July 7th.
July 7th is in the past. Did you mean August 7th by any chance?
Either way, this issue is resolved.
Deleting the .urc folder and then opening the project again and syncing fixed it for me
Either way, you mentioned that an update solved the issue. To this day, didn’t get the message.
