Switches with "store state per player" enabled not displaying state changes after they are unrendered

Summary

When exiting the render distance of a switch with store state per player turned on, the switch’s ability to display state changes breaks. This bug persists between rounds once it is triggered.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. create a blank creative island.
  2. Place a switch and player spawner next to each other.
  3. Set the switch to “store state per player”
  4. start the game.
  5. Walk 10+ tiles in any direction
  6. Return to the switch and attempt to toggle the state.

Expected Result

The switch should visibly change its state from off to on and back for each time the interact button is clicked.

Observed Result

The switch remains in the off state despite being interacted with.

This bug has been observed on an xbox one. It may be platform-specific, considering that the bug is purely visual.

Additional Notes

In the provided video, I have to exit creative because of the bug’s aforementioned persistence between rounds (despite persistence being turned off on the device), so the loading time in the middle can be skipped.
Changing the switch model also fails as a workaround, so the bug isn’t tied to a specific visual style on the device
