Hello, I’ve been tearing my hair out for three hours now so I’m praying one of you will save me.
I came back to finish work on a scene I hadn’t touched for a few months. I had this SAME issue back then on a different mesh - a chrome/aluminum material on a mesh was very dark. I solved it in the end, still looks fine in the scene.
Now I’m painting another mesh that needs some chrome bits. NOPE - in unreal they are super dark.
- sRGB is unchecked in the packed map exported from substance painter
- Connection in material set to linear colour
- Reflection capture sphere in scene, been rebuilt a thousand times
- Skylight set to stationary
- I have an additional AO multiply layer in SP - I’ve masked out the chrome bits so they are not impacted
WHAT AM I MISSING. I feel like i’ve missed a miniscule step somewhere but I cannot figure it out! Like I said, the chrome on the previously worked on object seems fine, light and shiny. On these new meshes, back to square one. I’ve tried going through every single layer in painter, and I just cannot pin the problem, please help
