Stuttering while using Side Scroller Controls Device and Fixed Angle Camera Device after being eliminated

Summary

Stuttering while using Side Scroller Controls Device and Fixed Angle Camera Device after being eliminated. Notice how in the video the character behaves normally, then at the 15 second mark I eliminate myself and after spawning it’s very stuttery/jittery and I can no longer mantle the ledge.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Assign a Side Scroller Controls Device and Fixed Angle Camera Device at game start
  2. Add a way to be eliminated in the match (I tested with damage volumes and guards, both work)
  3. Start the game and run around- it works as intended
  4. Eliminate yourself
  5. Run around some more

Expected Result

The player won’t stutter and would behave as before you were eliminated.

Observed Result

Your character begins to stutter and no longer behaves as normal (prevents ledge mantling and using weapons).

Same issue here.

did you try removing the camera and re attaching after respawned ? worth a try

I will try that thank you for the tip!

worth a try if that’ll get your game working but epic need to look into it for sure so keep this post open

Yeah, it still bugs out. But if you start a session with two players you can see that the player who is bugged is facing the wrong way. if there is a way to reset the players orientation it might work.

you could try teleporting the player and in the teleporter device have the setting to face in teleporter direction enables and make sure the direction is the correct way. The line on the device itself indications the facing direction

ok.

Sadly, teleporting did not fix the bug.

Sorry to hear that

It sounds like an epic fix is needed then

Maybe try take a video of the full thing with the 2 players showing the change in view. The more info they have the more likely they can reproduce it and fix it

FORT-841362 is ‘Closed’ as ‘Fixed’. The issue will be addressed in 34.00.
