Stuck in Level editing. Need Help in enemy placement.

Hello everyone,
So, I am working on a tactics game. And this is my initial level blockout. It is top -down Perspective.
As you can see I have patrolling enemies some idle ones. And gave them viewcones that detects things on their path and if it is player, enemy goes to them and attacks.

And my player can assassinate from behind or distract them by throwing a stone. (I will add more abilities going forward, please tell me if you have any ideas.)

So, what I am really stuck is in enemy placement. Like where to place the enemy strategically. Rn I placed them on a whim and gave specific point for them to patrol. And it feels I don’t wrong. Like I want to get a good puzzly feel to the level so player can use his abilities and cross them. But I don’t even know where to start at the moment. Is there any logic to it? Or any template?

My mind freezes just thinking about it.

Do any of you guys have any ideas or suggestions? Please helppp!!! :sweat_smile:
