Stripes in Stationary Directional Light

Hi,
I have huge problems in my scene with the Directional Light. I have always stripes in my scene after the light building. I tried different light quality settings. (preview and high) But this change nothing. The light is set to stationary.

What can I do to solve this problem? Could this be a bug?

Best regards, Andreas

Do the stripes appear to change as you move closer/further from the material?

In Light’s settings (of your station Directional Light), I’ve set up the following:

Unfortunately no. This stripes are always there no matter which distance I have to the object. I tried to solve this problem with the bias setting in my Directional Light. Normally this works. But in this case nothing helps. I can make this stripes smaller…But nothing more.

It’s been 4 years, so not sure if this is new, but there is actually an explanation in the tool tip of the “Shadow Bias” and “Shadow Slope Bias” parameters that explains it. These seem to be artifacts that arise from self shadowing, so nothing really you can do about it unless you want to lose self shadowing on your objects.
A value of 1 minimizes the artifacts, whereas a value of 0 maximizes them. 0.5 seems to be a good tradeoff.
