Streaming iPhone Live Link Face real-time footage onto another iOS device

Hello,

We are looking for ways to view Live Link Face footage in real-time on a secondary iOS device, such as an iPad, while capturing from an iPhone. The goal is to provide better visual feedback to the app operator during performance. At the moment, the only way to view the footage while recording is on same device that is capturing it, which becomes challenging while the actor is moving and performing.

If real-time streaming of the footage to a secondary iOS device is not possible, is there an alternative to monitor the real-time performance externally? We are aware of the OSC protocol to communicate with the app remotely, but we have not found any functionality that allows streaming the footage through it.

Thank you and kind regards,

Miguel

Hi Miguel,

This is not something that is currently supported, however we are exploring changes to the Live Link Face application that would enable a workflow similar to this.

Our aim is that Live Link Face will be able to stream video data back to Unreal Engine, potentially integrated using a Media Profile so you can preview streams and control inputs/outputs. While this wouldn’t directly connect with a secondary iOS device (as you describe), it hopefully gives the components necessary to build something that allows you to monitor the performance.

I am not able to give a firm timeline for this work as it is still in development and so subject to some change.

Mark.
