Strange black overlay — Is that a glitch?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been working in my project for a while, and suddenly I realized that my scene has that dark overlay flickering on the screen.

I thought it was related with custom depth stencil, but after disabling it from every asset it’s still there.

If anyone could help me I’d be so glad, this is frustrating me a lot!

Take care,

/Óscar.

I just opened landscape mode and found it get worse:

Okay, I realized that the issue is only happening on foliage.

There’s a video in “lighting only” mode so you can everyone see:

I checked “evaluate world position offset” on every foliage asset, but changing it doesn’t seems to fix it.

Some users have reported a weird ghosting artifact similar to this being caused by a GPU driver update. Consider rolling back your GPU drivers and see if that fixes it.

I had the same issue in 5.4. It was the latest Nvidia driver that caused it. I rolled back to driver version 552.44 and the problem went away for me.

I also had the issue after updating the drivers. Besides that, I accidentally checked “cast shadows” in a light I didn’t need to cast any shadow, and the issue was solved!

I can’t understand the reason, but in my case that problem only seems to occur if I have a casting shadow light. It’s weird for sure hahahaha
