Hello all,
I recently followed below guide to get an Ocean + multiple lakes and rivers in my large open world game.
I got there for 99.9%, the only issue left is a strange (Post Process?) plane that is created when some of the world partition landscape proxies are loaded.
-
When the complete landscape is loaded, there is no issue. When the complete landscape is unloaded, also no issue.
-
The plane appears roughly at the height of the highest lake that is loaded in partition, and has the dimensions of the water zone used for the ocean (zone extend dimensions)
-
The plane removes fog & water texture rendering if you look trough it.
-
The issue is also there in a stand-alone game.
-
The current work-around that I have in place is to have an infinitesimally small lake way above my highest mountain, that is always loaded. Initially I had it linked to a water zone with zone extend dimensions 1x1, but than the bug re-appeared. It needs to be the same zone as the main ocean.
-
My landscape is 32641x32641, scaled x 37,5 for about 12km width & 1024 landscape streaming proxies
-
Has anyone seen anything similar?
-
Any solutions or better workarounds that you can suggest?
-
Should I report it as a visual bug and move on?
I appreciate any help or feedback.
Kr, Flutebox.
