Hi,
It´s already 2023 and since I was able to follow up in TM´s discussions, video textures have always been an issue with TM. There is no way to properly render TM animations that contain video textures in it (i.e. TV contents, LED screen contents). Previously, the issue was just that video textures turned white when TM animations were rendered. Now, they turn to poor (lagging) and unusable playbacks of the video´s contents.
It amazes me that it´s not been properly fixed to this day.
On my recomendation, my company adopted TM (through a perpetual commercial license) in it´s pipeline for all rendering jobs. I am now regreting this recomendation everyday, because it has put me in the position of simply not being able to deliver my teams´ projects as expected. This situation is jeopardizing not only my business unit´s sales but my own job.
And you know what? Video textures are not a strech of TM´s features. Video textures are just there on TM´s interface! LED walls are TM objects and they allow for video textures. But they just can´t be rendered properly. It´s incredibly frustrating.
I work for LG Electronics, specifically in the LED panels unit and I am currently evaluating what 3D rendering tool will replace TM in my BU, because rendering animations that contain video textures is THE feature we can´t go without. This issue has gone without fixing for far too long. I am talking years here. If you don´t believe me, just search for "video textures" in the discussions base.
My recomendation to TM is that it just removes this feature. You are not really interested in making it work.
