Stereo Layers not working on Daydream?

The stereo layer component does not seem to be working in Daydream. I setup a simple stereo layer that has a non-live texture that is working on the Vive however it does not show up at all on the mobile device when exported.

Known issue or something I’m doing wrong?

Version 4.13.1

It doesn’t work for me in Gear VR, so maybe it’s just not compatible with mobile ?

Works for me on GearVR so not a mobile / android related problem

The three tricks to get it working:

  1. The Compression setting for the texture you assign must be set to “userinterface2d”
  2. Move the component back a bit from the camera
    and
  3. it only works on a headset not in the editor or preview modes

I think that’s it, thanks. I didn’t change compression type.

What about tracking method? Which one do you use in the Details panel?

Also wondering if you managed to render UMG in the StereoLayer.

“Face locked”

I doubt that would work unfortunately (but not sure 100% sure). So it’s only good for some purposes, but for showing a texture that does not change often it appears to be working very well with no performance hit
