Stencil layers and Image Media Source

Hey All,
I’m trying to find a way to use stencil layers and the image media sources that have alpha together. I’m able to use stencil layers on other geo/foliage that have alpha but on a media source playing back in sequencer doesn’t seem to work. I’ve tried both png and exr and it doesn’t see the image sequence or the plane it is playing on either. The renders for that layer are just empty. I also notice if I use Object Id the plane with the image sequence isn’t present. Has anyone achieved this before or is this not possible n UE5? I am using version 5.2

If you use the object ID visualization, the plane isn’t there?

Just as a quick check, are you using substrate materials for any of your alpha?

That is correct, the plane is not there. I am not using substrate materials in this project. When I even check other channels like opacity its doesn’t show up. I’m starting to think the media player in sequencer isn’t connected to either stencil layers or other buffer elements.

I think I may have found out why. My material is set to translucent. If I switch to mask, it shows up but looks bad in render. Do you know if there is a setting to allow translucent material to show up?

Could you define what ‘looks bad’ means? Also, what happens when you just use a blank skybox? Sometimes volumetric clouds can cause strange sorting.
