Hi Unreal Community,
So this is a rather open question on VR game deployment and more specifically for Steam. I’ve succesfully enabled the Steam OnlineSubsystem in my VR-only game but as you may guess, the API does not exactly work well with a VR environment, and is quite “broken” even if it’s kind of normal considering the game is in stereo.
Now my question is simple: As we get closer to our release for our game, we are looking into the deployment process for our game and I wonder if Steamworks for VR is something that exist and how it works. For example is there a Steam Overlay specifically for VR? I was under the assumption that Steam VR was supposed to be just that, but it’s rather confusing now since SteamVR seems to both mean the Steam HMD (The HTC ) and also the Steamworks VR integration. It’s all kind of confusing so any input on this would be great!
We are still under 4.7 but we are planning to switch to 4.8 next week and I see a lot of SteamVR related stuff in the 4.8 release so maybe some of this is already in the editor.
Any info on that would be great!
