Steampunk environment and mechanism pack - [Submitted]

I’d like to note that model as it is presented has larger dimensions than the Empire State Building (of course it isn’t taller). I would buy model if I had use for it because for all that you’re getting from it is most certainly a good cost-benefit. I can understand that other low end students and independent groups getting off the ground struggle to pay for anything, but is the sort of complex construction that is fully worth the price tag.

From my experience people pay attention to the price only if it’s a generic product item, steampunk however is unique and whoever needs it won’t bargain it’s price.

where do those numbers come from ?

If one person buy it for $100 I’ll earn more money than if 2 persons buy it for $40… you see , it works otherwise too …

the truth is that there is a optimum price for wich “number of sales” x “price” is maximum, but without appropriate statistics, probes and business expertise, we’re only able to guess it… from your point of view it’s around $50, from mine it’s around $100

for now I do not count on marketplace sales to pay my bills… but there are 3 possibilities for the future :

1- sales are good enought -> I won’t change anything and continue to make more content for the marketplace
2- sales aren’t that good -> I will consider lowering the price
3- sales are really bad -> I won’t change anything and won’t make anymore content for the marketplace and spend my time on something that brings more money than working in a fast food

“number of sales” x “price” x “specific details”

My biggest fear is indeed that people like you being discouraged from making content for the marketplace. What about survey? I think you can make a survey asking people HONESTLY how much they are willing to spend. It won’t be very accurate, because it’s a big gap between willing and actually purchasing something, but it can give you an idea.

Let’s say you have 2 AAA quality products, but one of them have 5% compatibility with people needs, the other AAA has 30%, so they’re both same quality, but one of them unfairly would receive less profit. Most scenarios are you actually make higher the price of the eccentric because it should have less competition. But in the UE marketplace that’s not the case. You’re having same target group, both the 5% and 30% compatibility is in.

You folks make me sound like, I’m saying your asset is not good enough for the money… NO! I think your pack is , that’s why if you’re successful would be great. I just speculate people are not willing to pay too much for environments when they have some free from epic, they accept it as granted. Still

Except that is a Steampunk and not a rock or a fence.
Imagine if each item was sold separately on a 3d store, the price would go way over $100.

Have a look at similar items:

Still think it’s expensive?

Is not yet for sale? It doesn’t show up on the marketplace under ‘coming soon’ anymore. I can’t understand how it can take Epic so long to make an asset accessible for eager buyers. thread is dating back from october 2014. Better change the ‘coming soon’ to ‘coming somewhere next year’…

I have absolutely no idea about what’s going on … I’ve sent an e-mail an PM to epic, asking for news … but no answer atm … wait and see…

(yeah things are on the way since october wich is a very long time … I’m being bored about the wait, especially when I see that some people are eargerly wainting for pack … :s)

I just got an update about what’s going on .

one more e-mail that haven’t reach my incoming box :s

so the pack will be released soon with something … special ^^

Nice, we stay tune

/taps foot eagerly waiting for to finally come out.

Soon is such an objective term >.<

Ah, one thing I would like to know though, does the model have a “boarding ramp” ?

well part of the process is in my hand, and I’ll be ready in a couple days, but then it will go back into epic’s hand, and I don’t know precisely when they have planned the realease … maybe next week … maybe a bit later …

the model it self doesn’t have a boarding ramp, but with more then 180 modular pieces, you can easily make you own one

Gotcha, I was curious about that (the boarding ramp), as my current idea has the ship “parked” in some area, passengers board, and then the ship takes off somewhere. Kind of like the old days of Titanic

Any news on ?

actually I’ve been asked by epic to make a small level sample in addition to the airship to showcase the modular aspect of the pack, wich I did last week :

it was last monday, I’ve already send a couple PM to jon jones with a link to video … no answer so far… wait and see…

Try emailing them directly, either marketplace@epicgames.com or deke.waters@epicgames.com if you’ve gone one week with no reply. I’ve attempted to contact Jon Jones via the private messages here before as well, but it seems as if he doesn’t check them. Email is the best way to get in contact. Good luck.

I love steampunk games. Great work!

I don’t think that the price is too high. You put a lot of work into it and you need to get paid for it.

Hello

$95 seems like a good price to me, when I can get my hands on it?

Is still set for release on the marketplace?

I would look at selling the asset(s) over on sellfy as well. Shame that we have to recommend a 3rd party ecommerce site due to the limitations of the marketplace :

one should be released within 2 weeks according to Jon Jones. There were a few items that got pushed to the launcher by mistake yesterday, was one of them. He said they will be released either next week or the week after (no release week due to GDC).
