Typically I open Epic Games through Steam so I can remap the controller and have been doing that for more than a year. Since the latest update my controller remap has been ignored and the controller works fine in all other games. Please help because it makes the game unplayable for me.

Steps to Reproduce
Set up a remapped controller in Steam. Then download Epic Games in Steam and open it in order to open Fortnite, and then try to play the game with the remapped controller. I specifically use an Xbox controller. My brother does the same and uses a Nintendo Switch controller.
Expected Result
You should be able to play with a remapped controller.
I suddenly have the same problem.
I’ve been playing Fortnite with a controller via Steam since the very beginning.
The entire controller configuration, button mapping as well as gyro settings and calibration runs via Steam - this is the only way I can ensure that the gyro in Fortnite feels the same as in the other games and that the mapping really fits.
Steam input for Fortnite has worked perfectly for years.
After not playing for the last two weeks, I wanted to buy the new Battle Pass last night and get back into it.
Yes, I bought the Battle Pass with a click of the mouse, only to discover that the controller no longer works at all. No more gyro, all buttons mapped incorrectly. Since my controller is not natively supported in Fortnite, I can’t play Fortnite at the moment - despite the Battle Pass.
Additional observation info: Steam standard Desktop Configuration button mapping seems to be still somehow active on the Fortnite main screen (you can open and close chat - but that’s mainly all).
Steam Input is vital for gamers - please reactivate it as urgently as possible.
