Stat Creator UI Widget Does Not Show For Players Who Join In Progress

@Flak For me it works somewhat when joining in progress, the custom widgets are visible but the stats does not update unless you disable and re enable the device every time a new player joins the island.

In the meantime while Epic fixes the bug, does anyone know of a workaround?

I’ve been following this forum thread since inception. JIP has been nonfunctional since release, and through testing, I have found no reliable workaroud. Enable/Disable of Device does not populate the UI, although I can confirm that the values are tracking if using Persistence.

Please upvote this issue, it is a game-breaker for two different projects of mine.

In my case, the UI stats either appear and work fine, don’t appear at all and no points are awarded, appear without a progress bar and no points are awarded, or show up as a double panel.

As a result, the point system isn’t working properly.

I i have found a workaround to make it work while join in progress.

Have the Stat Creator disabled, (before a player joins).
Enable the Stat Creator after a player joins.
To make it work for multiple players have a Stat Creator for each person.

@Flak Is there an estimated timeframe for resolving this issue? We need to know whether we should consider removing this feature from our islands or not.

This is not a workaround. By this you would create different Stat for each player, so you would not be able to do a comparison of their values between players if you would like to do that for some other functions, because each value would be for different Stat (different Power or Ability or for whatever you are using it).

The stat devices are now completely missing from my map.

Yes, some new info about resolving this would be helpful. Stat Creator UI still doesn’t work correctly in all 4 of my maps even after update to v34.00.

this issue seems very similar to the join-in-progress inconsistency issue with HUD message devices: Inconsistent HUD Message Device Behavior

is it possible this is an issue with HUD widgets being automatically shown, in general?

My gut says all of these HUD issues are related to this core issue: Join In Progress needs a 5 second delay for certain devices/events

Workarounds that have been identified typically involve disabling the device on player joined, sleeping, and then re-enabling the device. I believe the reason for this is that the player added event is being fired too early. So internally, the HUD is trying to show before the FortCharacter is fully loaded.

This aligns with the workaround identified for the conversation device. Initiating a Conversation with a Player while they are Jumping Breaks Their Game (Have to Close Client) - #2 by ryan-qa-xbox

If you Sleep for a short time after a player joins in progress, and then initiate the conversation, it will work properly. If you initiate immediately, the conversation will not show. The conversation will be able to be shown after respawning. I imagine this is because conversations are dismissed internally when a player is eliminated.

However, HUD message devices and Stat Creator devices are NOT dismissed on respawn, so they are never able to be shown again.

Even point accumulation isn’t working. I thought the issue was only with the display and that I could check my score in a private game, but no, NOTHING is working! Please prioritize fixing this bug.

What exactly do you mean by “accumulation is not working”? Describe what you configured and how. I am using Stat Creator in live versions of all my maps and accumulation of points is working properly. The issue is only with visibility of UI.

I also found this to be true although now i dnt use the system the points were always correct it was the showing/hiding on this and the tracker sometimes the timer too that is broke
