Yes, that is how it works. Data for Private versions and Live version are not the same. You expect something that is not true by design. And yes, data for Private versions will not last, it is also happening in all of my maps and still in their Live versions it is working correctly and data are saved and load from the moment that player left the last session.
But there is one issue with it (I don’t know if it was fixed already or not), that you could be experiencing regarding resetting values from Stat Creator - I wrote about it a lot in this thread even with a workaround (kind of), that is so far working for me, so check it out:
