Sprite Renderer: Custom Facing Vector [stopped working]

I recently updated a project from 4.26 to 4.27 but I’m not sure if this issue is related or not:

The Niagara system is set to “Custom Facing Vector” under Facing Mode within the Spite Renderer settings. But despite that, the system pivots to always face the camera as if this setting is being ignored. This had been working prior to updating the project version IIRC.

Whatever the underlying cause may be, does anyone know of a workaround?
