Spotlight strange diamond shadow

Anyone run into the same problem?
It always show up randomly.

Is it inside of a mesh? That looks to me like the spotlight is casting a shadow of a mesh onto the surface. If it is inside of another mesh (like a ceiling light mesh for example) then either move the spotlight down a bit or turn off Cast Shadows on the mesh it’s inside of.

But actually there is nothing blocking the spotlight. The shadow is always show up in this shape in different places.

I have exactly the same issue and shadow type. In 4.27 and also 5.0.3. I have tried all kind of view modes - nothing.

I`m trying for days now to narrow it down without success.

I able to reproduce this:

  • Create new 4.27 project (I chose VR template)
  • Create new empty level
  • Add a plane and a few static spotlights
  • Build lighting

The shadow will now follow the spotlight if I move it around.

Can anyone help?
