So i wanted to create smooth line using the spline tool. In the details of it I used the cube mesh with a white texture that comes with uefn. When I load ingame the cube mesh spline is created but the white texture does not render.
Steps to Reproduce
Create spline with landscape toll. Select a mesh for the spline (I used cube). Select any matarial and load ingame.
Expected Result
the spline will be there and showing the texture you selected.
Observed Result
the spline will be there but not with the texture you selected. The spline will show a light and dark grey pattern (the same pattern as when you select no material)
Are you still able to reproduce this with a material that has the ‘Used with Spline Meshes’ flag enabled? (This would automatically be turned on, but the materials that come with UEFN cannot be modified)
with a custom material and this option on true everything works fine. So in conclusion I can only use custom material and not the ones that come with uefn?
Yes, that flag adds extra shader code to make the material work with spline meshes. (And if the built in UEFN material was changed it could affect performance globally)
I hope that in the future we’ll be able to make copies/new instances of UEFN assets.
