I was using 4.10 where I can just drag out a SphereReflectionCapture and it immidiately works, in 4.12 however they just won’t work no matter what I try. (even in test scenes)
The new planar reflection works, SSR works, and strangely enough it’s even using my skylight’s capture as a reflection, but the SphereReflectionCapture are just nothing.
I really wish there was a way to debug problems like this, in Unity you can easily see exactly what a particular reflection probe has generated, in UE4 when a reflection capture isn’t doing it’s job it’s difficult to troubleshoot
Also I just tried the new 4.12.1 update, still same problem.
Hey .com,
In order to effectively assist you with a rendering issue like this, could you provide me with a screenshot where you believe the sphere reflection capture is not functioning as intended?
We actually have a lot of really helpful visualizers and tools for debugging your project. In your specific example, you can use the ‘Reflections’ visualizer like in the example image below.
View Mode - Reflections
Let me know if you have further questions or need additional assistance.
Thanks,
The reflection viewmode can’t tell me what a particular capture is viewing, it only shows me the blended results. I don’t know any way to see what a particular capture has captured.
Anyway I just tried todays update 14.12.2 and now it seems to work again.
