Summary
While a Level Sequence plays in the editor with the viewport locked to camera cuts, the audio listener does not follow the camera cut camera. Spatialized sounds with attenuation no longer attenuate based on the camera position. Reproduced in a clean project, so it is not project specific.
This makes it impossible to preview or mix spatialized audio for a cinematic from the shot camera in the editor.
What Type of Bug are you experiencing?
Audio
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new blank project.
- Place an Ambient Sound in the level using a looping sound with an attenuation setting (e.g. inner radius a few hundred units, falloff of a few thousand).
- Create a Level Sequence, add a Cine Camera Actor and a Camera Cut track bound to it.
- Animate the camera so it starts far outside the attenuation range and moves toward the sound source.
- Without playing the sequence, fly the editor viewport toward the sound: attenuation works correctly.
- Enable “Lock viewport to camera cuts” in Sequencer and play the sequence.
Expected Result
The sound gets louder as the camera cut camera approaches the source, same as when navigating the editor viewport manually.
Observed Result
Attenuation no longer responds to the camera movement while the sequence plays. Disabling the camera cut lock (sequence still playing) restores audio, but then the listener is the free editor camera, not the shot camera.
