Something wicked this way comes

Have you ever been under this atmosphere of ominous and oppressive waiting?

This small looped animation is based on the concept art by a very talented 2d artist - Alexandra Frantseva. The environment was mostly kitbashed, some foreground stuff is from megascans. Lighting and rendering in Unreal were a blast. I’m definetly sticking with this workflow for my future personal projects. A bit of color grading was done in DaVinci Resolve.

Hey there @kakochka,

Hope you’re doing well and having a great week so far!

This project feels like it would be in one of those rainy lofi playlists. Every detail seems filled with coziness, city mystery, and a terrific world design. I’d love to see more!

Thanks for sharing and please make more!

Greetings, @kakochka; thank you for sharing your incredible animation loops/screenshots with us here in the forums, and welcome to the UE community! I agree with @PresumptivePanda; I could definitely see this animation loop being the background within a LoFi YouTube video. :eyes:

This scene is tense; I wonder who or what she is waiting for. You did a fantastic job displaying her uneasiness. Kudos on the job well done with this creation!

Greetings @kakochka !

This is ingenious! From the title, I felt the tension building, the mystery intensifying as I sat on the edge of my gaming chair waiting for the looming threat. I expected to see a Godzilla-like shadow looming in the background when the lightning flashed, for a long lost love to appear from around the corner, for a reflection to show up in her steaming mug, for someone to show up from a fight she got into earlier that day that said, “The next time I see you, it’s on sight!” :facepunch: :boom:

Something has her on edge - senses in overdrive in anticipation for whatever is to come. The angle you chose for your looping animation was perfect! As her interest piqued, her head moved into the light, but when nothing was discovered, she moved back into the shadows. Her mood is certainly the antithesis to the peace symbol on display behind her.

What does “Xiu Bouhe!” refer to? I noticed it written on the wall.
