(Solved) Major - Black snow on a level without a particle vfx

EDIT: I had “snow” set as the default physical material on my landscape, which caused the snow to show. I think the lag is related to that too (setting snow as the default physical material).

Summary

So I am making a snow-themed level, and at some point I placed a vfx spawner with snow as the active effect. However, at some point I started experiencing 5 frames lost every 5 seconds, lag that wouldn’t go away and was messing with the performance of the map.

So I deleted the vfx spawner, but somehow the snow particle effect stayed in the level. The snow now became black and it doesn’t exist in the outliner. Copying all assets to a new level also brings it over, so I have no workaround to remove the black snow OR the lag it causes.

Steps to Reproduce

Open the attached project
Load live edit in edit mode or play mode.
You will notice black snow.
Load level “Mercenaries”, lag is more intense there (for some reason)

Expected Result

No lag, no snow falling

Observed Result

Black snow, lag every 5 seconds.
