You rock! Thanks man.

Thanks man. You save me! )

Big thanks to you mate and GTX guys  :heart_hands: =)
UE 5.1.0 and 1060 6gb laptop here

Big Thanks …Work Fine 1080TI

Could you please give me a new download link? The link to mega.nz does not open. thank you very much

Hi @zym1983811 Profile - zym1983811 - Unreal Engine Forums) Your antivirus and Windows defender are blocking this download. Right click and select “keep” and “keep anyway”

Temporary pause antivirus until the code is loaded
Then click Show and Keep Anyway

Download - MEGA

Thanks, why do they disable it ? im on 5.1 final.

AFAIK: Because of poor implementation of the ray tracing features some GTX users had experienced frequent crashes. Instead of dealing with that, developers decided to punish ALL GTX users and disable ray tracing for all of us.

I’m kinda new to UE, how do I use this file to enable path tracing?

Figured it out, just replace the file in “C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_5.1\Engine\Binaries\Win64”

Thank you!

Still unable to get it working (GTX 1660 TI) :(((

Replaced the DLL provided by kotn3l and added this to ConsoleVariables.ini

; pathtracing enabling
;r.D3D12.DXR.AllowEmulatedRayTracing=1

everything is activated in the project settings too! ( UE5.1)

@sino I have GTX 1660 and everything works just fine.

PS.

Project settings → Platforms → Windows

  • SM5 - Enabled
  • SM6 - Enabled

Targeted RHIs

  • DirectX 12

Project settings → Rendering → Hardware Ray Tracing

  • Support Hardware Ray Tracing - Enabled
  • Ray Traced Shadows - Enabled
  • Ray Traced Skylight - Enabled
  • Path Tracing - Enabled

Everything is done, but not working :frowning:

@sino did you enable ray tracing for your project? When you create a new project, you have to manually enable ray tracing for it:

I’m not sure if it has any meaning, because you have already enabled RT in the option of the existing project but still… This is UE5 - everything is possible.

Thank you! It’s work for me.
But the GPU usage is almost zero. It feels that the ue5 is using the CPU to calculate images instead of GPU.

Yes, I Did, trying this on a blank new project too, still unable to make it work :frowning:

A small question concerning the DLL, I only have to replace it, right ?
no need to rebuild or anything else?

You also need add the following
r.D3D12.DXR.AllowEmulatedRayTracing=1
into
UE_5.0\Engine\Config\ConsoleVariables.ini
and get the setting right according to documentation.
At lest it work for me.
But there still a problem that is once i start my render in MRQ the GPU will crush.and boom ue editor disapper.

@sino Yes. You have to replace old UnrealEditor-D3D12RHI.dll in “UE_5.1\Engine\Binaries\Win64” with the new one.

Just in case. This is the one I use:

UnrealEditor-D3D12RHI.dll (2.2 MB)

PS. I’m using Windows 10 21H2
