Soft shadows from ambient lighting

Hello

I’m trying to replicate the effect I’ve seen in interior scenes like Apartament in Paris. I have a problem with creating soft shadows on walls that aren’t directly lit. As seen on pictures below

I’ve been trying for a couple of days, but all I get is this:

The room is lit, but the lamp isn’t casting any shadow on the wall

That honestly doesn’t look like ambient light in that first scene, it looks like just any other bounce lighting. It looks like the light from the window is hitting it directly, making it cast a shadow like normal.

Also just to check, did you enable Ambient Occlusion under the lightmass settings for the map?

Also try increasing the number of indirect light bounces in world settings, as well as smoothness and quality
