It’s been stated quite a few times now to make sure that when dealing with multiple sublevels to enable World Composition and disable World Origin Rebasing(This last one is what causes the rendering of meshes to move and it is based on the camera location I believe each time the level is loaded). Have you done this?

@Meshky: dont pm now, im also having troubles, cant start even because of problem with submaps..
but add a new landscape to ure map (size= floating island) and create 2 subs for it aswell: a far and a near for foilage, maybe 1 extra for the rocks u will place
follow azumis tutoial above
ive tried to answer ure pm as good as i could
@AZUmi: did you tested that standard map with subs in from me?? try to place some stuff and with between subs, thats my problem…

Hi. Can somebody explain this bit to me? Do i open up “TheIsland” and then “save as” to my new mods folder, or do i just have to open it once and then start a new level? And i don’t understand how to go about and copy the things over that are needed.
No it was just so that you could render all shaders for future use, This is no longer required
since map is on hold i have been trrying ure tutorial for day/night…
lminked it all like u said, most of the time it looks for it automatically when u click it, so
but its all dark now

click on play in matinee and when sun comes up, press stop

Floating islands would be cool I have them but the pop up is INSANE.

then i added some more trees and foliage and cooked/uploaded again

you are placing all models inside your mod folder, and making sure that foliage is using the models you put inside that folder? if not it wont work
i didnt change anything on ure template…only sculpted the island a bit and painted it.
used far for trees(yoy where kind enough to fill it all in alrdy)
and bushes on near.
then cooked and uploaded
worked like a charm.
then i added in the farsub more trees and in the near some more bushes and it wouldnt…
solution: verified my files through steam…it kept downloading…hope i dont have to do that everytime lol
next problem: now the new trees and bushes are there, but sometime the screen goes completely black/green or blue, depending where i look at, then if i turn around a bit its back to normal??
any ideas on that?
your using the devkit from steam? thats like version 184 we are at 236.2
no i use the unreal devkit, steam is outdated
and underwater and dont have that problem, i ca 360 look around, only above water its bad
and my custom stuff finally ingame!!

Hi, I am very new to the ue4 engine. I see lots of usefull information of modders I know from there mods. Maybe my question is very basic but I know that the engine must be setup right from the beginning to work as it should without to restart all over again. So this tutorial asumes you have louded the standard map once. Can someone point or explain how you do that in easy to understand words? It would help me alot to get started. Thx.
File > Open Level > TheIslandSubMaps > TheIsland.
