Snow Glitching on a landscape with Ultra Dyniamic Sky

Hi, I’m working on a student project and i’m having trouble with Ultra Dynamic Sky.
We’re trying to get some snow on a landscape in order to get the character to leave footprints behind. That part works, but for some reason, whenever I raise the depth of the snow, the landscape starts glitching out of nowhere (see video link).

For some reason, it glitches on only one landscape, the bigger one. My teachers have tried helping but they couldn’t find what the problem was. I tried recreating the landcsape, just in case that was the problem, but it still glitches.

Is the size of the landscape the problem or is it some rendering issue? (I’ve also had the problem on tow different computers so I doubt that’s the problem)

Thank you for anyone who can help !!

It looks like you have z-fighting of some kind. I also note two landscapes, are they on top of one another?

I’ve played around with using two landscapes to track different things and use one of them as the display-layer, but always made sure one of them was hidden. Are you doing something similar here? Are both landscapes on top of one another and both maybe visible?

are you using vsm? the glitch distance and tiled appearance supports the idea of this being a shadow rendering or vsm invalidation issue. i’m just spitblaling tho.

I have two landscapes because I tried remaking the landscape after exporting the original heightmap, but they’re not on top of each other, it’s super weird but i agree that it totally looks like its two landscapes glitching. Maybe it’s the displacement that the snow is doing that has problems with this specific landscape?
I have no idea but i’ll keep on looking for the solution, thank you

I tried with and without VSM and it do’esn’t seem to change anything
