Hey guy… greetings… I am in no way a game developer so unreal and i are friends not on the gaming scale. I basically use unreal for other animations and the sequencer is my best friend. Now i bought this pack, very beautiful pack… the spline sysytem is amazine to me, ( my opinion) but i got stuck coz i cannot spawn the traffic system from the sequencer. Please i am not a pro in unreal if anybody can help me it will be more than Gold plsssssss. I want to be able to have this traffic system flowing while i animate my camera and then with my characters and render it. Please guys help me in this if any body can,

Hello I bought the product, it works perfectly.
However I have a problem, when I save, I have this error, it prevents me from saving, can you help me quickly.
Have a nice day

Hey there. I checked out the system and it does have a lot of impressive features, amazing work! However there is this issue with ray tracing, where the main spline meshes don’t cast shadows. As you can see in the image the additional elements of the BP (End mesh, poles, pillars etc.) cast shadows normally.
I migrated the map in UE5 as well where it’s easy to turn rt shadows on and off from the project settings and I could see that indeed with rt shadows off the main spline meshes also cast shadows.
From what I gathered online seems there is no support for spline meshes in ray tracing but I also only found the following from the UE forums:
https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/105920/whats-up-with-splinemeshes-not-generating-shadows.html
I tried to see if I could apply the solution provided there in the blueprint but to no avail.
Could there be a solution for this?
Thanks in advance.

I know your blueprint doesn’t say it’s supported on Mac but is that because you haven’t tested it on a Mac or it simply doesn’t work?

Is this plugin still being supported and updated? This has been one of the most helpful plugins I have ever purchased as I work with Civil Engineers.

Hi and thanks for your work . I have a problem , When I replace “End Mesh” to my custom mesh , the “Add Children at End Mesh” is not working with custom mesh , It can not add Children BP . How can I fix it ?

Thanks

Hey,
I just used apply spline to landscape, I assume it shouldn’t work like that. Is there any fix of that?
I’m using 4.27

Hello, it’s probably because of missing or improper vertex paint layer, you can tick override vertex paint checkbox in mesh import settings and see if it fixes the issue.
And I’m working on world composition support.

That’s cool .

But please don’t forget to add a proper documentation to the actual plugin .

It’s hard and time consuming to learn how to use the tool from one or two videos and some random forum posts, especially if the options are not the same or outdated .

don’t get me wrong, i love what you have done and i would love to use it but it need a proper documentation .

ps : side question :

can we add a roundabout with 3 4 or 5 intersections ?

You need to create sockets on the custom mesh where you want the children to spawn.

Try changing the collision type to “NOCOLLISION” while editing.

ok and thanks

Hello!
Bought your great plugin snappy roads bp and have been at it for two days without achieving any progress on Unreal 5, so even though you claim that this plugin is Unreal 5 compatible, it isnt!
I did the same editing on UE 4.27 and the terrain is updated when ever i edit the roadsplines but if i do the same in 5 it doesnt work! Terrain isnt updated (height nor weights).

do you have any workaround fix for this?

THx

Hello @JGauthier1971 !

I’ve checked Landscape deformation in UE501 and it works as intended.

Please take note that “Apply Spline to Landscape” button won’t work if “Edit Layers” option is enabled for the Landscape.
If you want to modifiy a layer of a Landscape use the Blueprint Brush instead.

To use the Blueprint brush: go to Landscape Mode → Sculpt → Blueprint and select BP_SR_LandscapeBlueprintBrush, make sure the layer you want to modify is selected and then click anywhere on the landscape to create a brush actor, then in the brush actor Details panel click “Select All Roads” and “Update Landscape” buttons.

Hi,

I Purchased this product and it is working fine in unreal 4.27 but in unreal 5 it has some issues.
Our connection point where we join all four roads goes upward when hit the play button in the editor.
Please help
