Skylight shadows are completely broken

Summary

In UEFN skylight shadows are broken. When using the default TODM’s in the world settings or custom lighting on NON lumen device you get aggressive flickering and artificing while this isnt the case on Lumen

drag in an object with some curvature/ complexity that is a light color and drag in a post process volume with the rendering “method” set to “none” (this turns off lumen)

Expected Result

That you dont have any flickering issues

Observed Result

The object flickers like crazy

Platform(s)

Any platform that doesnt have lumen

It seems the issue is rooted from the skylight. when you turn skylight “cast shadows” off this issue doesnt happen anymore but you need shadows to have a good looking map…

Can you open that object in the mesh editor and check for overlapping faces, broken normals etc.? Post a screenshot of it in wireframe mode, please.


Topology is pretty standard

The bottom and top faces seem to have some long, thin triangles. Can you try breaking up the faces and cleaning up those slivers, to see if that fixes the issue?
