Skylight Problems - Interior is bright without any lights


i want to make a game where you are all the time interior.
My problem is the lightning looks terrible without a skylight, but with skylight every room without lightning is bright.

  • i’ve tried to adjust my skylight - dark when there is no light near my character and gets brighter if my character is near to a light. But it doesn’t look good when i look through an open door.
  • i’ve tried also with postprocess volumes but same problem.

can anybody help me?
i tried to google my problem, but i couldn’t find any answer.


Do you need to use dynamic lighting for your project?

Is your target spec high performance enough to use DFAO?

yes, i want to put a light switch in every room.

You can adjust the intensity of stationary lights, but that does not get rid of indirect lighting, depending on the scene or project, that can be a good enough solution.

Otherwise, try distance field ambient occlusion.
