Skylight causes materials inside rooms to appear metallic

  • I have a room built with a window.

  • Outside there is landscaping, a directional light for the sun and a sky. Inside, the textures are flat wood and brick.

  • After adding the skylight, if you Bake the scene, all the textures (walls, floors ceiling etc…) within the room take on a heavy reflection of the skyline and appear metallic.

  • All wall, floor, ceiling and wood texture were forced to have Metallic==0 in the texture editor, but to no effect.

I have a few questions for you since I’m not able to reproduce this on my end.

  • Does this happen with a new level with a basic setup or a new project?
  • If not, I’ll need to know the detailed setup of your light and skylight for all settings that have been enabled/disabled or changed.
  • Does this happen with other materials like those from the starter content or just yours?
  • Have you disabled Lower Hemisphere on your Skylight?

If it’s easier and you have a sample project that reproduces you can attach that here as well and I can have a look and see what’s going on. It’s your call, though.
