SkyAtmosphere and SkySphere mesh visual issues

Hi guys, I’m trying to implement the SkyAtmosphere with a SkySphere mesh and material to create a believable atmosphere around a planet. I’m coming up against three issues that may or may not be related and was wondering if anyone here can help - I’ve spent a few days searching forums and trying to trouble shoot but with no luck…

My SkyAtmosphere settings are mostly at default, I’ve just set the ground radius to 1000 to fit the planet.

Issue 1:

When the SkySphere is active, zooming back a certain distance seems to force the planet mesh to render in front of the atmosphere. This feels like some sort of accuracy issue? This problem doesn’t occur when I hide the SkySphere.

Issue 2:

When using a SkySphere with these material nodes (as instructed to do by the docs and most youtube videos) there appears to be some quite visible banding in the atmosphere.

Issue 3:

The atmosphere appears to fade to black instead of ‘invisible’. This creates a black band around the atmosphere when used with a lighter-than-normal space SkySphere texture.

Any help on any/all of these is greatly appreciated. Thanks

OK I managed to solve the third issue from above (black band), it was coming from some blending stuff I’d taken from a tutorial that I don’t actually need - not sure exactly what it’s doing to make that happen but I can remove it anyway…
