Sky Texture missing UE 4.7.6

I’m a novice. I don’t know what I might have done, but the standard sky texture is now missing from my Unreal Engine.
If I make a new project, where there was a sky texture, now there is not.
I have a first person project that I’ve been working on. In that project I changed the sky to look like stars. Now it asks for that texture when I make a new project.
The texture that seems to be missing is "M_Sky_Panning_Clouds2

I thought that the starter content that was generated for a new project was editable and would not affect the engine itself.
Is this a common problem?

M_Sky_Panning_Clouds2 is in the Engine Content. As far as I know the Engine Content is not copied to every project. The Engine Content is shared in all projects. So if you change something in Engine Content it will be for all projects!

Perhaps you should reinstall.

Thanks, Martin. I’ll try that. Will my projects be overwritten with a reinstall?

Your projects well not be overwritten. In the Launcher you can remove the installed engine version. After deinstall you can install it again from the Launcher. And while downloading the reinstall you can say sorry to Epic for causing an additional download

Many Thanks!!
