Ive got a problem with the sky in my map, it shows as a strange red/purple colour in game, however when I press the refresh material option in the sky sphere details panel in the editor it reverts to the dark grey clouds as I originally intended it to, although when you play it goes purple again.
I’ve outlined the issue here:
But no one wants to pitch in to help and I’d really appreciate some help with this!
I have and still it does the same thing, more to the point I’m in serious deep trouble if I can’t fix it in the current level as it’s got a lot if work in it.
If you’re willing to u/l the project I can take a look. Can also try turning off the sun to see what happens? I dunno, lots of debugging I imagine to fix this one , GL
How I do it is I copy the project folder, then delete ‘saved’ and ‘intermediate’ to reduce size, then archive it to further reduce size. Can upload to google docs or something.
Or better yet just do the same but on the fresh project you made with the same problem. Should be significantly smaller since it’s fresh, right?
Up to you. GL. Off to work so if ya UL I may not see it till later
It doesnt contain anything except the skysphere and a platform.
Additionally, when i tried to replicate the issue in a new map where I dont have an issue the sun height setting in the skysphere cannot be lowered from 0.278886, but on the map where its not working its set at 0.197151, I dont know if this might be indicative of something?
Hi! I think I was suffering from this exact same problem. My sky sphere looked fine until I would try to run it in the editor, and it would revert to a weird reddish-purple. I opened up a fresh file and it did the same, except reverting to the default sky sphere colors. But I think I found the solution.
I had to go into the event graph for the sky sphere’s BP and disable the event tick that updates the sun direction. That is what forced it to keep pulling from the wrong values, even though “Colors Determined by Sun Position” was unchecked.
Thanks, I couldn’t find where you were referring to.
But for some reason I have 3 skyspheres in my level, I unchecked sun position in all of them and it seems to work better now, still not perfect but better.
I really appreciate your help though, no one can be asked to reply to posts anymore rather worryingly on both the forum and the hub.
