I’m working with an orthographic camera in my project, and for whatever reason the sky atmosphere does not appear when the camera is set to orthographic. I’ve read on posts for previous versions of Unreal that there is an issue with the orthographic camera that still hasn’t been fixed. I’m using version 5.3, is there a setting I can change to make the sky appear?
Hey there @sweeetjd! I believe this is a consequence of how the orthographic camera works in general, as the sky atmosphere is special with it’s depth rendering. I spent a bit trying to see if I could make an easy workaround, but aside from using an old school skybox instead or doing an FOV trick, it doesn’t seem like it will work out. Looks like others have resorted to using FOV tricks like this post below:
Okay, awesome, I’ll check it out! Thanks!
Let me know how it goes for you! Always looking for proper resources to suggest to others while we wait for orthographic camera upgrades!
