Summary
We have struggled with an issue similar to this for a while now, but its gotten worse since this new update. Basically a while back we had an issue where our lighting would be worse in editor compared to in a game/session. Specifically we noticed this issue with foliage(Using foliage mode) and interiors. In game our foliage would look good, with proper shadows, however in editor the foliage would almost have no shadows at all. With interiors, in game they’d have more light in them, but in editor they’d be very dark and some would almost be pitch black. We could never figure out why this was, so we left it alone since as long as the actual game that players are playing in looks good, that’s all that matters. Now it has gotten worse, and both the editor and in game looks bad.
Pictures below show the difference between how it looks right now and how it’s supposed to look. The first three pictures are of the foliage right now. The three below are pics of the same angles, but how it used to look in game or how it is supposed to look. The last picture is one of our interiors now, and as you can see it is extremely dark, which is not supposed to be the case.

Steps to Reproduce
- Use foliage mode to place down a custom exported tree model or any foliage
- Place down a custom exported building model
- Observe the foliage tree and see if the shadows on the tree are showing properly
- Observe the building you placed and see if the interior is much darker than it should be
Expected Result
The foliage tree’s shadows should like expected visually and have more shadows throughout it. The buildings interior shouldn’t be darker than expected.
Observed Result
The foliage tree almost has no shadows, making it look off and not proper with the lighting. The building’s interior is very dark and doesn’t react to the lighting properly.
