Community reports are showing the same things on PS5.

Thanks, getting the team to take a look.

Small add on they have collision also despawn effects but next to no visibility also no sound

They do not spawn in UEFN live sessions, either

Thanks for reporting. This has been added to the known issues list, and the team is investigating.

Do we have a fix for this yet? It’s unfairly killing maps that creators put A LOT of effort into. We all know once you loose your player count momentum in Discover, it’s almost impossible to get it back.

Yeah, it makes the game pointless when the game is all about sidekick pets..

This is important.

Next week sometime they said. Agreed, very unfair to those that have put hundreds of dev hours in to these games. Sadly a common pattern in UEFN/Fortnite, usually there is a workaround that can be found and a map rescued, no workaround here though.

Very unfair.. I tried bunch of settings to see if there are any workarounds, but sadly no. What I did for a temporary solution is I attached entity to the sidekick with the pet’s icon, so at least there would be something visually..

I didn’t want to wait a week until they fix this, so there is a one way how to fix this currently and that is replacing all of the sidekicks with custom made characters..

Same here, gamebreaking bug for pet-heavy maps

thanks for the update. Did they give a reason for why it will take a week? Tbh, I feel like it’s a bit unacceptable for it to take that long. Not trying to be negative, but I highly doubt anyone’s map will survive being broken for that amount of time. Idk if you agree, but I feel like it’s a bit shouldn’t take that long to identify and patch a quick fix, so it feels like our problem is a low priority concern for them right now..

A week is unacceptable, i had to unpublish my latest two maps bc numbers were tanking, and we all know how terrible discovery has gotten, no map can be revived without sponsored

Its all about the fortnite update pipeline. With many things it has to be a direct update to fortnite to fix it and as such build versions need to be passed to the platforms for approval and then it gets updated normally about 1 week they explain all this in the live stream from ages ago. Regressions like this should if possible have a hotfix but i would assume this has cost implications if its possible to begin with. Totally agree tho its not acceptable but the 1 week is for the next update its not like someone just decided this.

Idk about that.. I mean I understand where you got your information from. However, when it’s their precious Battle Royale, I’ve seen quick fix updates come out a day or 2 later, if not the same day. So, it’s really about how much they care about the issue. This is only affecting certain creators, so they don’t care much/not a high priority to them.

I think the bigger issue is a complete lack of QA on updates and changes more than anything. I get that it takes a while to push updates when it’s client side. Whatever they changed about the pet NPCs was not tested AT ALL, or they would have seen that they are invisible. So that’s my biggest gripe. Also, while I don’t expect it, I sure wish they’d at least say “sorry we killed your map”, just as one human to another knowing we’ve spent hundreds of hours working to make a game in their ecosystem. If they did that though, they’d be apologizing every single update… maybe untenable, even if morally right.

relax guys, it is all about prioritization, of course the battle royal map that has millions of players will get issues resolved sooner than my pet map that has 10 players in a month

They just released an update, and it looks like they’re now appearing correctly and their sounds are playing properly, at least in the editor.
