Ok, I found a solution to my problem ( not being able to run any VR preview twice without the framerate dropping to 0 ). NVidia has released an update to their drivers which seem to work:
I’m seeing a weird issue, and have the same thing in the VehicleGame demo. My view is 180° from the direction it’s supposed to be facing, so I’m basically moving through the scene backward.
Any ideas? I’m on Win 10, DK2 with the 0.7 SDK & an nvidia card.
This demo was great. Man that thing is huge at the end. I’m on an Asus G751 laptop with a 980M and it was running fluently.
I had the same issue as did Dannington on page 1. Your tracking camera isn’t working. My first attempt to unplug the sync cable and reattach a few times didn’t change anything. Then I did the full plug everything and reconnect and it started working. I did switch to the USB 2 ports on the computer which forced the oculus drivers to be reinstalled… I suspect the driver reinstall did it, but…
Win 7, DK2, .7 SDK, Nvidia 750 Ti.
why i cant find the project to download ?? in learn tab or store it’s not there
Hey,
Is it possible the latest update messed the demo up? Now I spawn inside the ground?
Same issue here. Can look around just fine, but I’m underneath the asphalt with a clear view of everything from underneath (not quite as immersive)…
Hey I’m going to take a look at this and see what happened here. Can you all make answerhub bug reports for these? We’ll need more details about what versions you’re using and what specifically you’re seeing.
Does this info help?
Unfortunately, the Showdown Demo only supports 4.10.2 as the latest version and I’ve already upgraded to UE 4.11. Any it is a simple change to make it work with UE 4.11.0?
Same issue (point of view very close to the ground)
Also, no background in the initial scene (just black). Is that normal?
I was having a look at this today, seems to me the player BP is spawned halfway into the floor. I did the fix for 4.11 that people were having problems with by adding a scene component and attaching a camera as a child. This lets you move the camera up and down whereas just moving the camera doesn’t work.
I don’t see this happening until 4.11 is fully released.
If the camera wasn’t messed up you would see the UE4 logo in front of you. As it stands you can see it if you look up alot
This fix made it for me (10.4)
As concerns the black background: I meant, wasn’t it like this before?
Oh! I don’t remember that at all xD Maybe it was to disorientating with the headset or something
Can Epic please explain blob shadow setup and if it’s suitable for mobile VR ?
Second this request
edit: Vulkan might be essential here
Considering how Oculus and Epic have been “epically” dropping the ball on Gear VR support in UE4, I wouldn’t hold my breath for anything Gear VR related any time soon.
It’s a real shame there isn’t more focus on gear vr, it’s ease-of-use coupled with how portable it is really makes it a far more useful tool for archviz presentations etc. An optimized version fo Showdown could really help push that forward.
Is this demo still available? I cant find it anywhere in the Learn tab.
Edit: never mind, found it in Marketplace
