Should my building model assets be one piece or small modular pieces?

I’ve seen some videos that showcase building a scene in a hallway and the walls and floors are repeated sections of a relatively small models.

I’m wondering if I should do that for my levels or have the whole room as one single model. By which I mean the walls, floor and ceiling, holes for windows and doors all one connected model.
